BMW Custom Steering Wheel Guide: M2, M3, M4 & Every Series Explained
BMW drivers are the biggest group of customers we build for — and the brand with the most wheel generations to get right. This guide explains which of our BMW custom steering wheels fits your car, and which options BMW owners pick most.
First: identify your chassis generation
BMW wheel fitment follows the chassis code, not the badge on the boot. Three generations cover almost every modern BMW:
- E generation (2004–2013) — E87 1 Series, E90/E91/E92/E93 3 Series, including M3 E9x. Our E-series wheel is built for these cars.
- F generation (2010–2016+) — F20/F22/F30/F32 and friends, plus M2, M3 F80, M4 F82, M5 F10. The most common upgrade platform in the UK.
- G generation (2016+) — G20 3 Series, G30 5 Series, G80 M3, G82 M4, current X models. Our G-series wheel also takes the newest LED display options.
Not sure which you drive? Check our BMW compatibility guide or send us your reg and model on WhatsApp — we confirm fitment before you order.
The specs BMW owners choose
The classic M-style build pairs a gloss carbon fibre top and bottom with Alcantara grips and tricolour M stitching. On M3 and M4 builds, most customers add the LED race display — RPM shift lights and live temps in the top of the wheel. A flat bottom completes the motorsport profile.
Airbag, buttons and paddles: all retained
Every wheel is built on an original-specification core, so your airbag, multifunction buttons and shift paddles transfer straight over — no warning lights, no coding, and no MOT concerns. Full details in our guide to UK legality, MOT and insurance.
